Deliverable: 3.1. MAPPING REGIONAL/LOCAL STAKEHOLDERS AND COMMUNITIES AND NEEDS ANALYSIS

We are happy to announce another major achievement in our project – Mapping regional/local stakeholders and communities in ERA FABRIC regions! After a quite long and challenging work, we have finalized our latest deliverable, which explores in detail the composition and characteristics of national and regional stakeholders involved in research and innovation in ERA FABRIC regions and countries.

In the analysis, we maintained our focus on four different types of the stakeholders: academia, industry representatives, policy makers and civil society across three project thematic domains: Sustainable Manufacturing, Bio-based Circular Economy, and Clean Renewable Energy. In addition to identify all the relevant stakeholders across different types and thematic domains we have also performed an in-depth needs analysis to explore current obstacles for the collaboration between different stakeholders within and among the regions, search about skills needed for boosting collaboration and gather ideas for the improvement of existing collaborations and starting new ones.  as research plays pivotal role in enhancing society’s innovation capacity and fostering the creation jobs!

Although having many differences in terms of the development of regional knowledge and innovation ecosystems in ERA FABRIC regions, needs analysis helped us shed light on common problems and obstacles when it comes to collaboration.

This mapping document will serve as a valuable tool for the next step – creation of the thematic working groups which are expected to function on the international level by absorbing stakeholders from ERA FABRIC countries in one place. They will further elaborate barriers hindering knowledge and innovation collaboration, how to improve it, and propose recommendations for the advancing institutionalized incentives and policies.
